Pillow Protectors

What is a pillow protector? A pillow protector is a zipped, washable cover that goes over the pillow and under the pillowcase, to keep sweat, make-up, oils and spills out of the pillow itself. Unlike a pillowcase, which is changed for looks and comfort, a pillow protector stays on and does the protecting; a waterproof pillow protector adds a sealed layer under a soft top, so the pillow stays dry and still feels like a pillow. Pillows are the hardest thing on the bed to wash, which is why a protector extends their life the most.

Ours is the Horrockses terry towelling waterproof pillow protector, made for a standard 45 × 70 cm pillow: a soft terry face you will not feel through the pillowcase, a waterproof layer underneath, and a zip so it stays on. It makes sense for kids' rooms, guest rooms, guest houses and any bed that gets a lot of use, and it pairs with the Horrockses mattress protector for the whole bed.

One size covers every standard South African pillow; our pillows and pillowcases are the same 45 × 70 cm, so the set matches. See bedding for the rest of the bed. Towel Kingdom has supplied pillow protectors to homes and guest houses since 1994, from four branches in and around Durban and online.
